Intermodal

MAKE SURE YOUR INTERMODAL SHIPMENTS ARE PROPERLY SECURED

Intermodal freight transportation involves cargo moving in an ISO container or trailer, using two or more modes of transportation (rail, ship, and truck), without any handling of the cargo itself. Although the cargo remains untouched, the container in which it is transported may be handled many times. This creates the potential for damaged cargo if not properly secured for intermodal transport. Since a portion of intermodal moves are over the rail, all dunnage materials used for these shipments must meet stringent AAR approved (L-1 minimum). The Atlas Level 1 airbag was designed specifically for intermodal load securement applications.
